When we want to live out this kind of love in our own lives, it requires us to open our hands. Love asks us to give our time, our patience, and sometimes even our own comfort. It means looking at the people in our homes and workplaces and choosing to serve them.
You can practice this generous love today in very ordinary moments. It might look like listening to a frustrated coworker, forgiving a family member, or putting your phone down to be fully present. We love others best when we reflect the giving heart of our Creator.
Just remember that you cannot pour from an empty cup. Take a quiet moment today to simply accept the incredible gift of grace you have been given. Because you are so deeply loved, you have everything you need to love the world around you.
Dear God, thank You for loving me so much that You gave Your very best to save me. Help me to fully receive that gift today and let it spill over into how I treat everyone I meet. Amen.
